Who we are

Who We Are

CircUP Arts is a bold, youth-focused arts organisation based in Townsville, dedicated to inspiring the next generation through creativity, movement, and self-expression.

We began with a simple vision: to create a safe and exciting space where young people of all backgrounds could explore their potential through the performing arts. From community workshops to full-scale productions, we’ve grown into a vibrant hub for aerial arts, acrobatics, manipulation, stunt skills, and creative development.

Our purpose is clear — empower young people, connect communities, and celebrate individuality through accessible and inclusive arts programs. Whether it’s in schools, on stage, or in our training space, we’re here to spark joy, build confidence, and give young people a platform to shine.

At CircUP Arts, we don’t just teach skills — we nurture artists.

We Have an Amazing Team

We’re proud of our circus family — a passionate crew of performers and educators who bring heart, energy, and skill to every session. From acrobatics to aerials, our trainers support, inspire, and lift each other up — literally and figuratively. A little quirky, always fun, and full of heart — that’s the CircUP way!

Community Engagement

CircUP Arts isn’t just a performance group — we’re a movement for creativity, connection, and community change.

We deliver circus directly to schools, neighbourhoods, and remote areas through hands-on, inclusive programs that break down barriers and build confidence.

From pop-up workshops to long-term residencies, our focus is accessibility, empowerment, and belonging. We tailor each program to the needs of the community.

Through circus, we connect, inspire, and uplift — one community at a time.

Artistic Program

At the heart of CircUP Arts is our belief that young people have powerful stories to tell — and bold, creative ways to tell them. Through our performance troupe, the CircUP Squad, we co-create shows with and for young people, giving them a platform to share their voices, ideas, and perspectives in dynamic and original ways.

Our productions blend circus arts, theatre, dance, and physical storytelling to create high-energy performances that are both entertaining and thought-provoking. From concept to curtain call, young performers are involved in every stage of the process — building skills, confidence, teamwork, and ownership.

Whether it’s a community showcase, school tour, festival stage, or commissioned production, every CircUP Squad performance is a celebration of youth expression, creativity, and collaboration.

We’re not just making circus — we’re making space for young people to be heard.
